One of the things I enjoy as a source of decompression and personal creativity in my life is digital illustration. I am a terrible failure as a painter and gave it up quite some time ago in college, but the desire to take an image beyond the expected and into the confines of the heart still drives me. Classic Dutch painters like Rembrandt and twentieth-century American painters such as Maxfield Parrish and Andrew Wyeth are a few of my classic influences. Combining those influences with modern-day culture and trends in the area of advertising, commercial photography and photojournalism where I have at much of my professional experience has equipped me with the influences and ability to achieve some of my personal creative goals as an artist. One of my favorite quotes is from Andrew Wyeth, “I search for the realness, the real feeling of a subject, all the texture around it… I always want to see the third dimension of something… I want to come alive with the object.” For me, I think he is addressing the physical environment of texture and dimension which, in the digital age, is something I continually make an effort to maintain. From time to time I will be posting images in the category of “Personal Creative Work” to share with you my personal projects for everyone to enjoy and comment on.

Andrea at Circle Park Bridal is so unbelievable! She not only opens her heart to people around her but also opens her store to brides as well as fellow wedding vendors as well! I had the pleasure of visiting her store last weekend to capture some images of some wonderful custom Birdcage Veils, Feather Fascinators and Custom Jewelry. Elizabeth and Robert

If I had to say one word about Elizabeth and Robert it would be “genuine.” The genuine sincerity of their personalities, love for each other and their beautiful wedding were very memorable for me as it must have been for them and their guests. They attend Chase Oaks Church in Plano, so naturally that is where they were wed. Robert’s brother who Pastors at another church officiated the service. I have loved working with them from their Engagement Photography Session at the Angelika Film Center in Plano (where Robert proposed… rented out the entire theater and produced a movie that was “The Proposal”… followed by an immediate reception with their friends in the lobby… how fun is that!) to Elizabeth’s Bridal Photography at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Robert’s love of cars decorated the reception having a different car for each table’s theme. I had the chance to ride with Robert last year and wow does he know how to use a Porsche… fast! I am looking forward to a family portrait session with them as soon as we warm up and dry up outside! Thanks Elizabeth and Robert for the honor of capturing your wedding through my lens!

Its time to launch our **Class of 2011 Senior Model Representative Search**!! Are you, or someone know, a member of the 2011 High School Graduating Class who loves to be in photos….this could be for you!

What is it?
Our Senior Model Rep Program is a way for you to earn free stuff while helping us spread the word about our latest Senior Portrait styles and trends.

Are you eligible?
In order to participate you need to be a Class of 2011 Senior. You don’t have to be a “model” to take part. We are looking for fun, outgoing personalities that are eager and excited to be involved. Very limited availability so don’t hesitate.

Kristen and Justin Engagement Session

Kristen and Justin are such a great couple! We started out at the Dallas Arboretum and had a blast! The weather was great, everything was still green and it couldn’t have been better. We then spent some time at the Cotton Mill to get a few more shots. Kristen and Justin, you guys look great no matter where we shoot. I can’t wait to see what happens at Kristin’s Bridal session… I know the images are going to be great! Thanks so much you guys for being you and allowing me to capture it!

We had a wonderful time downtown at the Old Red Courthouse. I have been looking forward to Sarah and Nico’s big day after hearing about all the details I would get to photograph! Sarah looked absolutely beautiful! Maitee Miles did a wonderful job with Sarah’s hair and makeup and Mockingbird Bridal provided her gown. They are a great couple with great taste… DFW Events did a wonderful job with all of their colors, flower (The Wildflower)… just everything! I also had the privilege of enjoying the sounds of Inside Out again… talk about energy! They topped off the evening with a 1939 Cadillac Touring Car from Romantic Remembrances. Their wedding was definitely an evening to remember!
