One of my favorite images “Chasing Butterflies” inspired me to adapt the image for one of my favorite and creative brides. I wanted to share the image because I want to express the way boundaries of the expected can be crossed when thinking about your bridal session. I hope this is an inspiration to you!

It is always an honor to be featured on Junebug Weddings. They are the epitamy of class and style when it comes to Wedding Photography, Style Inspiration and Planning Resources. Such a great organization and so proud the be with this talented group of people!

Images created by Paul Ernest of Paul Ernest Photography in Dallas, Texas has recently been accepted into the Loan Collection of Professional Photographers of America’s 2011 International Photographic Competition. Paul’s work will be on display at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, January 15-17, 2012, in New Orleans, La. This exhibition is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual convention of professional photographers and several photographic associations.
A panel of eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from more than 4,000 total submitted entries at Gwinnett Technical College in Georgia. Judged against a standard of excellence, over 1,500 images were selected for the General Collection and just over 600 (15 percent) were selected for the esteemed Loan Collection—the best of the best. The Loan Collection images will all be published in the much-anticipated “Loan Collection” book.
Images titled “After the Harvest,” “All I Want for Christmas,” “Chasing Butterflies,” and “Trust Me,” Ernest’s entry will be in New Orleans at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center alongside other photographic works from PPA’s photographic competition and traveling and special invitational displays. These images constitute one of the world’s largest annual exhibits of professional photography gathered simultaneously under one roof.

Last week I was honored to participate in the WPPI Wedding and Portrait Photographer’s International Print Competition. It was an unbelievable week of friendship, fun, learning, print competition and so much more. Thanks to my wife Marianna and my kids, Noah, Nicholas, Jacob and Andrew for their patience and support! Thanks to David Edmonson, Luke Edmonson, Richard Sturdavent for your guidance and mentorship and a big thanks to Alter Van Duren for his “persuasion” on entering competition! Thanks to BWC labs for being so good to me with all my competition prints! I can’t wait to see what this year looks like on camera!
Later this week I will be posting the 22 images that were included in the show!
